The Can-Do Canon: Pixma MP630
In between Canon’s high end and budget offerings sits the Pixma MP630 Colour Inkjet Multifunction All in One Printer, a solid multifunction with good printer quality. This Canon’s good design and slim footprint, an excellent built in scanner and copier and surprisingly strong overall utility make it an intriguing inkjet printer choice for its reasonable cost. This colour printer includes:
- Terrific and easy to use navigation interface, which allows automated double-sided printing, PC-free image uploading and an inkwell monitor
- Clear, sharp, fast and vibrant photo and document colour prints
As usable as the Pixma MP630 is, it is not perfect:
- This colour printer could use wireless capabilities
- With five inkwells and refills costing around $20, its maintenance costs outpace the MP630’s inexpensive initial price
Canon Pixma MP630 Printing
Neither fast nor slow, the Pixma MP630 sits in the middle of the print speed spectrum just as it sits in the middle of the price spectrum, producing an easy four to five pages of plain text per minute. Double-sided prints take about twice as long, while colour photos are produced relatively slowly at around one page per minute. The clarity and standard of all prints are superb, however, especially on higher quality settings and the hardware itself has proven very dependable.
Canon Pixma MP630 Price
Running under $300 Australian, the Pixma MP630 is a touch upmarket for a mid-level inkjet printer and its maintenance costs are similarly slightly too expensive.
