The HP Photosmart C309A – There’s Nothing It Can’t Do
With so many new multifunction devices on the market, the HP Photosmart C309A breaks through the competition by being good at… everything. The photo printer’s plethora of features includes fax functionality, an automatic document feeder that loads pages from the top of the unit, an automatic duplexing function, a flatbed scanner and a CD/DVD loading slot at the very bottom. Along with impressive speeds and print quality, this All-in-one inkjet photo printer is actually quite aesthetically pleasing to gaze at – covered in glossy white plastic with smooth all-white buttons on the control panel. The MFC uses five ink tanks with a standard cartridge yielding 300 pages, and has a myriad of connectivity options including USB, Ethernet, wireless and even Bluetooth. It’s only dent in the armour is a lengthy installation process as well as a fairly expensive price (21.2c per A4 page using high yield cartridges). Suitable for home and small office printing, this All-in-one inkjet printer’s core strength is its diverse range of abilities.

This All-in-one photo printer is pretty speedy for a multifunction device. It prints draft mono documents at an average 17.6 pages per minute; it averages 9.4ppm when using normal quality. Colour documents are slightly slower at 15.7ppm in draft mode and 5.6ppm when using normal quality. Even better, standard 4×6 inch photos print out in good quality and are fast, taking 26 seconds per page. The HP colour printer has a maximum hardware print resolution of 9600×2400dpi, but mono printing is restricted to 600×600dpi. This is a common restriction in home multifunction printers, and whilst it limits the quality of text documents, the text on this printer still comes out readable and crisp.
